On 11^th October 2019 Department of MBA organised a guest lecture on “Emotional Intelligence and employability skills” for the students of MBA I year. The resource person for the lecture is Ms.Anilambica Kata, Asst. professor, Dept. of MBA, Adi kavi nannayya university, Kakinada.

In her lecture, the resource person discussed regarding the importance of emotional intelligence and its influence on the daily life of humans. She explained the difference between feelings, emotions and how they are connected to heart and brain directly. Madam also explained different stories as examples to make the students understand well.

The session forwarded with elaboration of self control, motivation and attitude and different stories pertaining to them as examples. The resource person also explained how the heart and brain should go hand in hand to have a balanced life for a human.

She also discussed different current issues where emotional balance is quite necessary and how the people and surroundings and environment gets polluted without emotional intelligence and emotional balance. Emotions at workplace also play a huge role as always people are surrounded by people at all costs as they are dependent on each other.

The students felt that lecture was very informative, innovative and involving. The resource person was introduced by Mr.Sriman and ended with a vote of thanks by Miss.Tejasri

On 13^th September, 2019 Department of MBA organised a guest lecture on “Neuro linguistic Programming” and “Entrepreneurship” for I MBA and II MBA students. Resource Person for the Guest Lecture is Prof.Arul Raja, Neuro Linguistics Expert & trainer for Entrepreneurship from Saint Joseph’s Institute of Management, Bangalore.

In his lecture the resource person discussed about finding one’s passion and checking about one’s feelings and relating passion and feelings in the field of Entrepreneurship. He also discussed about Cultural Entrepology and also about conscious, subconscious and unconscious minds of Human beings. He also conducted a special exercise which is about how one should regulate their inner feelings and ideas.

The students felt that lecture was very informative, motivating and inspiring. The Resource person was introduced by Rev Fr Dr A Rex Angelo SJ, Vice –Principal (PG) and he was thanked by all the students of MBA for his inspiring lecture.

On 31 August 2019 Department of MBA organised a guest lecture on “Contemporary Practices of HR” for the students of MBA II year. The Resource Person for the lecture is Mrs.G.Guru Vardhini, Senior HR Manager, of SIBA company, under Sandeep Chemical Industry which is mainly into wood finishes and varnishes.

In her lecture the resource person discussed regarding the latest HR practices which are being implemented in the corporate organisations. She also explained the concept of training and development and how training and development plays an important role in the life of a newly recruited employee. She even discussed various training methods they use at their company to train their employees as they are mainly into sales and marketing.

The resource person forwarded the lecture with explanation of HR planning and the requirements for HR planning. She explained HRP in relation to the curriculum the students have got and departed lot of practical knowledge regarding HRP in corporate sector. Further, industrial relations were explained in detail and mainly, PF act, Gratuity act, ESI act were separately discussed to enhance their particular importance form other labour laws.

The resource person gave many real life examples to the students related to the subject. The students felt that lecture was very useful to them theoretically as well as practically. The resource person also conducted some mock interviews by randomly picking students and showing them how the stress would be in interview sessions.

Mr Sk Zakir Hussain, CFP, MBA, (Ph.D), Director of ARTHA Integrated Financial Academy, and Corporate Trainer at Optimus Share Broking Ltd. & Optimus Commodities delivered a guest lecture on 'Mutual Funds and Career Opportunities in Mutual Funds' to MBA students on 14/11/2018 at the PG Seminar Hall. He impressed upon the students the competitive edge they can have by doing certificate courses from NSE, AMFI and SEBI like NCFM and NISM.

Mr Rajarshi Samuel Rao Betha, Manager, Wealth & Asset Management, Ernst & Young LLP, London, delivered a guest lecture on 'Perspectives on Finance Careers and Investment Management' to our MBA students at the PG Seminar Hall on 11/01/2017 Mr Samuel previously worked for Vedanta Resources plc, North Point Group (USA), The Coleridge Group (USA), Arizona Public Service (USA). He shared his knowledge acquired over a long period of time working for so many world class companies with the students.

Mr Hari Charan of the Corporation Bank delivered a guest lecture to the MBA students at the PG Seminar Hall on September 07. The lecture was on 'Stress Management with a focus on suicidal tendencies in the present day youth'. Before joining Corporation Bank, Mr Hari Charan was a lecturer in the department of MBA at Andhra Loyola College. He taught HRM during his stint at ALC.

Rev Fr Dr Casimir Raj SJ, the Founder-Director of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai and Director of XLRI, Jamshedpur and XIM, Bhubaneshwar interacted with the students of MBA on 17/10/2015.

Fr Casimir, a Professor in Marketing, worked at various prestigious educational institutions in India and abroad. He was a professor of marketing at LIBA-Chennai, GIM-Goa, XIM-Bhubaneshwar, XLRI-Jamshedpur, Wheeling Jesuit College-USA, St Louis University-USA.
